BRANFORD MARSALIS SUPPORTS
FEED THE RELIEF’S NIGHT OF JAZZ

New Orleans, La.World-renowned saxophonist and New Orleans Native Branford Marsalis will be the entertainment for Feed the Relief’s “A Night of Jazz” April 9, 2010.  Marsalis, a three time Grammy Award winner has been very involved with relief efforts in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.  One of his most important post-Katrina accomplishments was the conception and construction of Musician’s Village in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward.  Along with fellow musician and New Orleans native Harry Connick, Jr., Branford worked to create the Village, consisting of 72 new homes built for members of New Orleans’ all-important musical community.

Feed the Relief’s founder and PGA Tour Member, Kelly Gibson, will be the host of the evening.  Kelly and Branford both share a love of the game of golf as well as of their city.  No doubt there will be some great stories shared between these two of their memories on and off the golf course.

“We are very excited to have Branford headlining our event, A Night of Jazz.”  He brings a lot to our fundraising night and we are thankful to have the support from an artist of his caliber,” said Brad White, Executive Director of Feed the Relief, Inc.  Along with the musical talent of Branford, patrons will have the opportunity to purchase one-a-kind items at the live and silent auctions.

This will be the foundation’s first of many fundraisers in 2010.  A golf tournament will be held the following day at TPC Louisiana, also benefitting Feed the Relief.
